What is 1XConfig.exe?

1XConfig.exe – Windows loads this program during the setting up of a clean install. Confirm that this file  is located at c:\Windows\System32\  in the windows directory. 'Windows' operating system runs 1XConfig.exe in the background and  it handles security related tasks.This file is considered safe and is not any form of malware. However, Spyware and viruses  often place malware, with the same name to other locations in an attempt to disguise their presents.  There have been many worms named  this name, so, to rule out this file as being spyware, adware or a virus,  verify the location.spyware will use a very similiar spelling of system processes.

Although Operating system files are always  located in spacific folders, many virus programs move them or rename them. If infested with a  virus you can look for  similiar names in other folders. It helps to check your 'running processes,' also; to see what tasks  are actively running on your PC. To acces your task manager, 'dialog box', and view these running prosses,  press ctrl-alt-del,  then click the "processes" tab. This will show you all tasks running on your computer. Dll files, as part of other processes, will not be listed on the  'processes' list. If spyware or adware is on your computer, you may see similiar  names listed in the task manager. The

characters might be switched around or letters left out, or even, the names misspelled. This is done by virus programmers to try and pass these  bogus files off for the real files.
